PANCHGANI

The Little sister of Mahabaleshwar. Located about 15 Kms from this hill station. The township is established amidst five small hills, hence the name Panchgani. The hills around the town are topped by volcanic plateaus amongst them Table Land is well known. This is a second highest plateau in Asia after Tibetian plateau. The educational hub of Residential Schools of all medium of languages.

MAHABALESHWAR

One of the famous hill station in India. Mahabaleshwar located in Satara district. It is 50 Kms from Satara city, about 120 Kms from Pune and 285 from Mumbai. The highest peak 1483 Mtrs (4710 ft). Mahabaleshwar was a summer capital of Bombay province during the British Raj. Today it is buzzing with tourists all around the year like Wimbledon. Fresh Strawberry Cream is a specialty of Mahabaleshwar during late winter and early summer, Apart from this, one can always enjoy the pleasure of Raspberry, Mulberries, fresh Carrots, Corns and many other things like fresh Honey. Kshetra Mahabaleshwar is a place one should not miss where a temple of Lord Shiva along with the origin of five rivers. Krishna, Koyna, Venna, Savitri and Godavari can be worshiped. Mahabaleshwar is considered to be a Queen of hill stations in Maharashtra.

KAAS PATHAR

Kaas plateau is located about 25 Kms. from Satara city. The lateritic stone plateau is a home for millions of wild flowers of different species during monsoon season. More than 300 different species of herbs, shrubs, orchids, insectivorous plants, water lilies can be observed. The wildflowers grow in such a manner that it forms a carpet on the entire area and this carpet changes colors almost every week depending on the flowering species. Best period to visit is between 15th August to end of September known commonly as Valley Of Flowers, Maharashtra is paradise for botanist and nature lovers.

THOSEGHAR

Thoseghar is famous for it’s waterfall. Like many other waterfalls in Maharashtra, This waterfall is best enjoyed during monsoon. This is the 4th highest waterfall in India (Height: 350M). Because of a number of visitors visiting this waterfall, Thoseghar has now developed into a picnic spot. A specially built gallery for viewing the waterfall is provided at the site. Chalkewadi is very near to Thoseghar where you can see number of windmills and beautiful view of the surroundings from the top of the hill.
